There is no better way than voluntourism to get to know a country, it's peoples and communities.
We are able to offer you 3 ways to embark upon a voluntourism in Brazil. The 1st voluntourism vacation is by helping out an orphanage. The orphanage is in Recife , north-east Brazil, in fact, there are 2 orphanages available; one for boys and a girls orphanage. The minimum voluntourism period is 2 weeks, up to a maximum of 4 weeks. Our 2nd option is voluntourism which is conservation related.
You will be based in Irece, central Bahia. The conservation project is based upon the concept of permaculture with the following primary objectives:
To develop agricultural practices aimed at sustainability, which includes attempting to combat desertification.
To motivate and educate children, teenagers and adults in using appropriate permaculture techniques and to raise awareness of local eco-systems.

And finally, the 3rd voluntourism vacation is working with a local NGO. Our NGO voluntourism opportunity is available in the following cities; Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Porto Alegre and Fortaleza.
You will learn what makes an NGO tick, as it were, in other words you will be involved fully in the day to day operations of the oprganisation and can also get invloved in some of the projects, perhaps teaching a little English or helping and giving them some fundraising ideas or help with translation, both on and off-line.
